GENTING HIGHLANDS: National exponent Wong Kai Meng defeated Thailand's Pramoth Sooksatit to bag the men's welterweight gold medal on the opening day's action of the Sixth International Clubs Open taekwondo championships at Arena of Stars here yesterday.
South-East Asian champion Noordiana Norrizan also lived up to her top billing in the women's featherweight competition. Noordiana, representing Viva Club, beat another Malaysian, Nurma Ziela Rosman of Warisan, in the final.
