KUALA LUMPUR: The Squash Rackets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) managed to collect RM100,000 from the “Golf for Squash” charity event at the Mines Golf and Club Resort yesterday.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agung Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku Syed Jamalullail took part in the event as the guest of honour.
Men’s world No. 1 squash player Thierry Lincou, Malaysia’s men squash player Ong Beng Hee (world No. 16), Mohd Azlan Iskandar (No. 17), women’s world No. 2 and world champion Vanessa Atkinson, Malaysia’s Nicol David (No. 3) and Sharon Wee (No. 24) attended the function.
Later, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong presented Nicol a memento as a token of appreciation for her achievements
The money collected will be used for SRAM’s development activities.
