PETALING JAYA: India skipper Bhaichung Bhutia will play for Premier League side Selangor MK Land in next month’s Malaysia Cup.
Yesterday, MK Land managed to sign up the 29-year-old Bhaichung for the three-month long competition.
Bhaichung, dubbed the Maradona of India, is not new to the Malaysian football scene, having played for Perak in the Malaysia Cup in 2003.
Said MK Land assistant coach Michael Palani: “Bhaichung has a lot of experience, having also played for Bury in the English Division Two in the 1999-2000 season. He should be an asset to the team.”
MK Land are drawn in a tough group for the Malaysia Cup. They have newly-crowned Premier League champions Selangor, Perak and Public Bank for company.
