Athletics: Burly Malaysian Adi bags a double

SINGAPORE: Burly Malaysian Adi Aliffudin Hussin completed the double when he clinched the boys’ discus event to add to the gold he won in his pet event – the shot putt – as Thailand increased their lead for the overall title at the 29th Asean Schools Track and Field Championships at the Chua Chu Kang Stadium here yesterday.

On the second day of the championships, Malaysia won three of the seven finals but Thailand upped the ante by winning the other four to lead the standings with a 9-7-1 haul while Malaysia remained second with a 7-7-10 tally.
