ST ANDREWS (Scotland): Colin Montgomerie may have come up short at the British Open, but home fans did have something to celebrate in the shape of 19-year-old Lloyd Saltman, who won the Silver Medal going to the top amateur.
The Edinburgh golfer needed a birdie at the 18th to pip fellow Scot Eric Ramsay for the award and he did so with a monster putt from 30 yards out that left him with a three-footer for the win.
