BUCHAREST: Romania’s 1994 World Cup team have raised nearly 500,000 euros for the victims of floods which have killed 27 people across the country this year, organisers said yesterday.
Floods, the worst for half a century, have killed 20 people in eastern Romania over the past week. About 11,000 people are dependent on army aircraft for supplies of food and drinking water after being evacuated from their homes.
