Karim to contest AAAA secretary-treasurer post

KUALA LUMPUR: Karim Ibrahim, the vice-president of the Malaysian Amateur Athletic Union (MAAU), will contest for the secretary-treasurer post of the Asian Amateur Athletic Association (AAAA). 

Karim will take on incumbent Maurice Nicholas of Singapore, who has been at the helm for more than three decades, during the AAAA Congress in Incheon, South Korea, on Sept 2. 

A number of MAAU officials will also be competing for posts in the various sub-committees. 

Another vice-president R. Annamalai is hoping to become a member of the technical committee, MAAU council member M. Iyaru (walking), Olympic Council of Malaysia deputy president Datuk Dr Jegathesan (medical), Hanapiah Nasir (coaching) and MAAU vice-president Rajemah Sheikh Ahmad (women). – Bernama
