PENANG: Selangor’s high jumper Lee Hup Wei stole the thunder on the opening day of the national schools (MSSM) athletics championships at the City Stadium here yesterday by matching the effort that won the 2003 SEA Games gold medal.
The 18-year-old Bukit Jalil Sports School student cleared 2.15m in the boys’ Under-18 competition to equal Loo Kum Zee’s winning mark in Hanoi two years ago.
