Aussie star banned for shunning Azlan Shah Cup

MELBOURNE: Australian star player Troy Elder has been suspended for 12 months for deciding not to take part in the seven-nation Sultan Azlan Shah Cup invitational hockey tournament in Kuala Lumpur from May 26-June 5.

This means he will miss next year's Commonwealth Games in Melbourne after a row over his overseas playing commitments.
