LONDON: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to ease the pressure on England centre-half Rio Ferdinand over his lengthy contract talks with the Premiership giants.
Ferdinand has been stalling on a deal that would see him earn a reported £100,000 (US$191,000) a week and Ferguson had warned he would not be messed about after standing by the 26-year-old following his eight-month ban last year for missing a drugs test.
