MARANG: Former national swimmer Kimberley Yap, 19, smashed the course record and even finished ahead of the men to win the Kapas-Marang International Swimathon event here yesterday.
The Miri girl swam the 6.5km distance from Kapas Island to Pantai Kelulut on the mainland in 1'26:16 to bag the overall women's title and the first prize of RM1,000 in the event which was revived after a four-year lapse.
