MANCHESTER: Rio Ferdinand said on Thursday he was hopeful of signing a new contract with Manchester United “in days rather than weeks” as he tried to quell the mounting speculation surrounding his Old Trafford future.
The England centre-back’s agent Pini Zahavi has angered many United fans by saying his client wants a massive £120,000 per week just days after Ferdinand was spotted at two separate London restaurants with Peter Kenyon, the chief executive of rivals Chelsea.
