LAS VEGAS: Wendy Ward turned back all challengers on Saturday to capture her first LPGA Tour title in four years with a two-stroke victory over Mexico's Lorena Ochoa at the Takefuji Classic.
Ward started the third and final round with a three-shot lead, and despite the efforts of Ochoa, 18-year-old Paula Creamer and South Korean Ahn Shi-hyun she never surrendered it.
