English player with heart defect told to stop playing immediately

LONDON: An English footballer has been ordered by doctors to stop playing immediately after tests revealed the 32-year-old has the same heart condition which killed Cameroon and Manchester City midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe in 2003.

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling says Andy Scott, who played 400 matches in a 13-year career, was “very lucky” to be alive.
