VIENNA: After buying a Formula One team, Austrian energy drink maker Red Bull has expanded its sports empire to include soccer by taking over struggling Austrian club SV Salzburg.
Red Bull's billionaire boss Dietrich Mateschitz said he wanted to take the club, who are second from bottom in the Austrian first division, to the top of European football.
