STOCKHOLM: A play about the often-discussed affairs of English national team coach, Seven-Goran Eriksson, is to open in Stockholm in April, Swedish media reported yesterday.
The play, which is to premiere in the Stockholm national theatre, Dramaten, on April 8 is in English, Swedish and Italian, the newspaper, Aftonbladet said.
The 58-year-old Swede, who has been living with Italian lawyer Nancy Dell’Olio since divorcing his first wife, made headlines last year when his affair with Faria Alam, a secretary at the English FA, came to light.
The details of the affair were made public when Alam sold her side of the story to English media.
Two years earlier, English newspapers reported about an affair Eriksson had with Swedish TV personality Ulrica Jonsson.
The play’s artistic director, Stefan Larsson, said that the play was a ‘free fantasy’ about the situations with the mistresses and the football officials, which Eriksson faced through his affairs.
Asked about the chances of Eriksson appearing at the premiere, the coach’s assistant, Tord Grip, said: “Could well be that he comes. We will have just played two World Cup qualifiers then.” – dpa
