PETALING JAYA: MK Land are in with a chance to top Group A of the Premier League competition if results go their way this Sunday.
MK Land are in second spot with 10 points after four matches – two points behind Selangor. And they are expected to collect full points from lowly Kelantan TNB in Kota Baru.
Selangor, in contrast, have a tough match against Malaysia Cup runners-up Kedah.
“We can top the group if Selangor concede their first defeat. But we cannot take victory over Kelantan TNB as granted,” said assistant coach Michael Palani.
“Teams who have yet to register a point are always dangerous and we cannot afford to let our guard down.
“We are not looking at just beating Kelantan TNB. We have to beat Kuala Lumpur in the next match too to put us in good stead for the match against Selangor in two weeks' time.”
MK Land are looking sharp in attack and have scored 10 goals thus far with St Kitts and Nevis international Marlon Alex James as their leading scorer with four in the bag.
Slovakian Miloslav Toth has three to his name while fellow countryman Marcel Horky has contributed two. The other goal is credited to local striker Mohd Nor Derus.
In the four matches, MK Land drew 0-0 with Kedah and went on to beat Brunei (3-1), Penang NTFA (4-1) and Malacca (3-2).
