Keeper comes good for Arsenal in shoot-out win over Sheffield

LONDON: Arsene Wenger's faith in Manuel Almunia was finally vindicated on Tuesday as the Spanish goalkeeper's penalty shoot-out heroics sent Arsenal into the FA Cup quarter-finals at the expense of Sheffield United.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been the butt of some scathing criticism this season but he came good at Bramall Lane - saving spot-kicks from Alan Quinn and Jon Harley to allow his side to win the shoot-out 4-2.
