MADRID: It was never going to be an easy task for Claudio Ranieri to step into the shoes of Rafa Benitez as Valencia coach, but few expected the Italian’s second spell at the club to end in a quickie divorce after just eight months.
“You can’t say no to your heart,” Ranieri said after agreeing to return to the club he had steered to the Spanish King’s Cup during his first spell in charge between 1997 and 1999.
