Stadium snag a worry for NY’s Olympic bid

NEW YORK: New York's embattled plan for a US$1.4 billion 2012 Olympic Stadium became the centre of controversy here on Tuesday as an International Olympic Committee evaluation committee visited the proposed site.

Rival finalists London and Madrid have already hosted the committee, which will visit Paris and Moscow next month in advance of their analysis of the bids before the IOC decides a 2012 Olympics host on July 6 at Singapore.
