MONTREAL: The mayor of Montreal emerged from talks at swimming's ruling body FINA here on Monday hopeful that his city could after all stage the world championships taken away from them due to financial concerns.
FINA announced last week they were withdrawing the event away from Montreal after organisers were unable to come up with guarantees covering any shortfall.
