SOUTHAMPTON: Southampton midfielder David Prutton, firing the first salvo before Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round game, says he hopes bitter rivals Portsmouth get dragged into the English Premier League’s relegation dogfight.
The two clubs’ fans loathe each other and, with Harry Redknapp quitting his post at Portsmouth only to take charge at struggling Southampton, Prutton believes the Cup game at St Mary’s Stadium is phenomenally important for both clubs.
