TORONTO: Montreal mayor Gerald Tremblay is refusing to accept the International Swimming Federation’s (FINA) decision to drop the city as world championship hosts and will fight to get the event back.
“We will provide the financial guarantees so that the event can be held in Montreal despite what went on between FINA and the organisers,” Tremblay said in the Globe and Mail. “We have a contract with FINA and we expect it to be honoured.”
