LISBON: Former Benfica club president Joao Vale e Azevedo received an 18-month jail term here on Tuesday for falsifying documents pertaining to the sale of pitches belonging to the team.
He was cleared of laundering and embezzlement of funds and his lawyer said he would appeal the guilty verdict.
