GLASGOW: Rangers were reported yesterday to be set to sign Liverpool’s out-of-favour Swiss defender Stephane Henchoz and were also opening discussions to bring in striker Thomas Buffel from Dutch side Feyenoord.
“Rangers is a real option for Stephane and he was very impressed with what Alex McLeish had to say to him about the club,” the 31-year-old Henchoz’s agent Jorg Vonmatt told the Scottish Daily Express.
