Tsunamis cast shadow over ATP season opener

MADRAS: Generating relief funds for tsunami victims and gearing up for the new season are the players' aims as they prepare for the ATP Chennai Open starting here today.

That the US$400,000 season opener is being held at all is itself no mean achievement after last week's tsunamis wrecked havoc across Asia and left some 4,500 dead in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, of which Madras is the capital.
