SYDNEY: Players were delighted to share in the new five-year US$323 million SANZAR broadcasting rights deal with Rupert Murdoch's News Ltd, the players' advocate said yesterday.
The deal replaces a 10-year US$555 million broadcast rights agreement with SANZAR – the alliance between the South Africa, New Zealand and Australia rugby unions – which expires next year and represents a 16 per cent rise on an average annual basis over the existing contract.
