KUALA LUMPUR: Defending women's champions Selangor got off to a flying start in the 46th Maba-Petronas Agung's Cup basketball championship by defeating Sarawak 84-44 in a Group A match at the 11th mile Secondary Chinese School in Cheras yesterday.
Selangor, powered by five national players - Tai Lee San, Choo Seck Yun, Yoong Sze Yuin, Chow Siao Foong and Cheng Shee Mun – were just too strong for the East Malaysian team, taking a comfortable 54-22 lead at half-time.
