JEDDAH: South Korea's Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma took a huge step towards securing the third continental title of their history when they beat Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad 3-1 here on Wednesday in the first leg of the Asian Champions League final.
After winning the 1995 Asian Club Championship and the 1996 Asian Super Cup, the Korean league champions will be hot favourites to wrap up the Champions League trophy when they host the second leg next Wednesday.
