KUALA LUMPUR: The National Sports Council (NSC) will take on a bigger role than just developing high-performance sports from now onwards as the government want them to undertake talent identification programmes at the district level as well.
The Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Azalina Othman Said, said that the government wanted to put a bigger emphasis on grassroots development for the eight sports, which they picked for full funding recently to strive for excellence on the world stage.
