Good start by six junior shuttlers in Vancouver


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia enjoyed a splendid opening day in the individual competitions of the World Junior Badminton Championships with all six players advancing into the third round of the boys' and girls' singles at the Minoru Arena in Vancouver on Monday. 

Lim Kenn, who received a first-round bye, defeated Russian Maxim Danchenko 15-3, 15-6 while Azrihanif Azahar beat Jorrit De Ruiter of Holland 15-8, 15-8 in the second round. Azrihanif also received a first-round bye.
