MADRID: The Spanish government has agreed to back Madrid's bid to hold the 2012 Olympics to the tune of 833mil Euro (US$1.05bil), allocating over half the money to improving security arrangements.
The government has approved the guarantees and commitment to spend 833mil Euro on behalf of the state in order to support the Madrid candidature, Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega said.
