DHAKA: James Franklin bagged a hat-trick and Mathew Sinclair slammed a solid unbeaten half-century to boost New Zealand's hopes of gaining a lead over Bangladesh in the opening Test here yesterday.
New Zealand were 133-4 at tea on the second day in reply to Bangladesh's modest first-innings total of 177. Sinclair was on 73 with Jacob Oram on two.
