RIO DE JANEIRO: Veteran striker Romario’s future at Fluminense was the subject of intense speculation on Monday after he came off second best in a confrontation with coach Alexandre Gama.
The 38-year-old former Brazil striker had initially won the backing of club president David Fischel, whose intervention won him a place in the starting line-up for Saturday’s Brazilian championship match at home to Goias.
