KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's hopes of getting the first medal at the Athens Paralympics ran into a hitch yesterday when archer, Mohd Salam Sidik, failed to enter the semi-finals of the individual archery event.
Mohd Salam, ranked eighth in the world among disabled athletes, bowed out to the much higher ranked German archer, Oehme Mario, who is the world's number three, after both tied at 100 points in the quarter-finals.
