SEPANG: Defending champion Toshiyuki Hamaguchi tame the wet condition at the Sepang International circuit to clock the fastest lap time to take provisional pole in the premier Super Sports 600cc class of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship yesterday.
It started to rain heavily during the start of the 40-minute qualifying session. Hamaguchi of Honda Extreme Racing team took a gamble by waiting until the last 10 minutes for the rain to taper off before going out on track to clock the fastest lap time of 01:22.940.
