Wenger condemns decision to abandon Roma match

LONDON: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has condemned the decision to abandon AS Roma’s Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev after referee Anders Frisk was injured by an object thrown from the stands.

Swede Frisk decided to abandon Wednesday’s game in Rome’s Olympic Stadium after he was hit on the head when leaving the pitch at half-time with Kiev leading 1-0. Frisk said the Italian club could not guarantee his safety or that of his assistants.
