PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Karamjit Singh secured a big boost to his hopes of lifting a record third overall title in the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championships (APRC) when he won the round in Japan in Hokkaido yesterday.
Karamjit, racing for Proton Pert, started the second leg of the race yesterday with a slim lead of 29.8 seconds but displayed superb handling skills to stretch his winning margin to more than a minute at the end of the history-making event, which is being staged jointly with the World Rally Championship for the first time.
