JAKARTA: The Athens Olympics won’t be shown on Indonesian television, making the Southeast Asian nation the only country with athletes at the Games not to be broadcasting the event, media reports and officials said yesterday.
“We wanted to air the Games but we couldn’t get enough interest from advertisers,” said Teguh Juwarno, spokesman for local TV station RCTI, which ran live coverage of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
