Ching Hooi powers his Yamaha to pole position


PETALING JAYA: Overall leader Lee Ching Hooi blazed the North Track of the Sepang Circuit with a time of 1:09.977 to take pole position for today’s Pirelli Open Superbike Championship, which is the opening race of the Malaysian Super Series. 

Winner of the first two rounds of this year’s championship, Ching Hooi was almost a full second faster on his Yamaha R1 than second-placed Keith Perkins of Britain, who clocked 1:10.920.
