LOS ANGELES: Third seed Lindsay Davenport won her fourth WTA Tour title of the year and second in as many weeks defeating top seed Serena Williams 6-1, 6-3 to capture the JP Morgan Chase Open hardcourt event here on Sunday.
Davenport denied Williams on all six break-point chances she managed, half of them in the final game, to capture her fourth Los Angeles title and a US$93,000 top prize in her eighth finals appearance in the event.
