Injury-hit Saudis begin quest for fourth Asian title


CHENGDU: Injury-hit Saudi Arabia kick off their quest for a fourth Asian Cup crown here today against Turkmenistan while the battling footballers from war-torn Iraq open their campaign against Uzbekistan. 

The Saudis beat Turkmenistan 3-0 in a World Cup qualifier last month, but will face the Central Asian side this time with five key players out injured, including midfielder Mohammed Noor and goalkeeper Mohammed Al Daeyea.
