LONDON: Wayne Rooney’s Everton future was thrown into doubt on Friday after the club’s chief executive, Trevor Birch, resigned just six weeks after taking up the job.
One of Birch’s key tasks with the club was to keep 18-year-old England striker Rooney at Goodison Park.
