Lydia, Hui Lin down for Medan meet

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) shuttlers Lydia Cheah and Ng Hui Lin, who upset national trainees in the recent Malaysian Open, have been given an opportunity to compete in their first international tournament. 

The duo are in the team for the Fourth Milo Junior Indonesian Open championships, which will be played in Medan from July 21-25. 

The 15-year-old Lydia, who is seen as a great potential in the girls' singles, defeated Anita Kaur Raj to reach the main draw of the Malaysian Open while Hui Lin, 15, defeated Ooi Yu Hang in the qualifying tournament. 


Boys: Liew Daren, Chong Li Qun, Lee Hock Lai, Chin Tze Seong, Chang Hun Ping, Goh Ying Jin. 

Girls: Julia Wong, Norsyahliza Baharum, Chong Sook Chin, Chew Mei Lien, Yee Qui Hsiang, Stephanie Shalini. 


Boys: Liew Daren, Chong Li Qun, Lok Chong Chieh, Chan Kwong Beng, Zairul Hafiz Zainudin, Lim Fang Yang, Vountus Indra Mawan, Mohd Arif Latif, Loo Yik Xiang, Ong Jien Guo, Syed Akhbar Shah Syed Mustakim, Goh Ying Jin, Chin Tze Seong, Tan Wee Kiong, Lufti Zaim Abdul Khalid. 

Girls: Julia Wong, Lydia Cheah, Ng Hui Lin, Goh Liu Ying, Stephanie Shalini, Chong Sook Chin, Yee Qui Hsiang.
