LONDON: Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi has signed a five-year contract with the club that will run until the end of the 2008-09 season.
The 22-year-old, an England Under-21 international, scored 10 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions last season, and provided cover in the absence of Welsh striker Craig Bellamy.
