Sarawak divers scoop up two more golds

SARAWAK continued with their domination in the diving competition when they picked up the two gold medals contested at the Aquatic Centre in Paroi yesterday. 

Fourteen-year-old Elizabeth Jimie beat her more fancied rival and teammate Rosatimah Mohd to win her third gold medal in the individual girls' 10m platform event.  

Elizabeth garnered a total of 418.23 points from the nine dives. National diver Rosatimah had a total of 400.80 to take silver in the only individual event she was allowed to compete in.  

Perak's Cheong Jun Hoong took the bronze with a score of 368.25 points. 

Sarawak's Zibeon Uzza picked up a second gold medal in the boys' individual 1m springboard competition.  

The 14-year-old Zibeon, who took part in the World Championships in Spain last year, finished with a total of 321.51.  

Sabah's Khairul Safwan took the silver with 262.92 points while Seow Hock Mao of Penang won the bronze with a total of 215.10. 

The diving competition concludes today with the boys' 10m platform and girls' 3m springboard finals.
