BEIJING: Asian football supremo Datuk Peter Velappan has urged fans to get behind the Asian Cup to show the world the region has made progress since the 2002 World Cup and deserves respect.
The whole world will be watching. Why? Because they want to know how Asian football has progressed in the last two years, he said in Beijing as preparations are finalised for the 16 teams taking part in the continental championship in China, which runs from July 17-Aug 7.
