LIVERPOOL: Sacked Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier (pic) defended his record on Monday and warned the Anfield club not to hope for a quick fix.
After six years in the job Houllier felt he had made progress towards re-establishing Liverpool as a major force but the club's board lost patience with the Frenchman after the team finished fourth in the premier league.
