Azrin and Hui Yen are top athletes of Pahang

KUANTAN: National silat exponent Mohd Azrin Malik and rhythmic gymnast See Hui Yen were announced Pahang's male and female athletes of 2003 in a ceremony here on Saturday night. 

Mohd Azrin, 25, won a gold medal in last year's SEA Games as well as gold medals in the Pahang Silat Championships, the Kuala Lumpur Open and the Philippines Open. 

Meanwhile, Hui Yen, 17, garnered gold in the team event at the SEA Games and a bronze in the individual event. 

They received RM3,500 and a trophy each. The awards were presented by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob. 




Promising male: Zulkifli Che Ros (weightlifting). 

Promising female: K. Ganthimanthi (athletics). 

Coach: Nasri Nasir. 

Sports leadership: Lee Jin Xian. 

Best district: Kuantan Sports Council. 

Sports mover: Temerloh Sports Council chairman Datuk Abdul Hashim Mohd. 

Sports figure: Tan Sri Muhammad Ghazali Shafie. 

Elite athlete: Siti Shahida Abdullah (discus and hammer throw). 

Male paralympiad: Muhamed Mahidin. 

Female paralympiad: Noornadia Amran. – Bernama
