BRUSSELS: Fans of Belgian First Division side Germinal Beerschot have been banned from throwing a party on Saturday to celebrate the relegation of city rivals Royal Antwerp.
“I didn’t want to ban anything. But now everything points to the so-called “relegation party” turning into a confrontation between die-hard fans of Beerschot and Antwerp,” Patrick Janssens, the mayor of Antwerp, was quoted as saying by the De Morgen newspaper.
